Presences · a virtual post-it service
Presences is a virtual post-it project. The railway station's space is the link between all the persons that cross it anytime, emphasizing the interest of the project within this framework.
Anybody with a Wi-Fi compatible device can access the service. A simple on-line registration allows you to create an account and download the software to your device.
Geo-localisation and zones delimitation is made with wi-fi triangulation.
The Presences User Interface allows you to create your own messages and drop them where you want in the station for the people you want. You can also read your personal messages or public ones.
When creating a message, the interface menu is built upon the three basic elements of a presences message : what, who ...and where.
Once you've set content, addressee(s) and a place(s) for your message you can post it. The addressees will find it when arriving in the target area, local delivery!
As the Wi-Fi technolgy is "invisible" and unrecognized by many people, we design a temporary installation on the station's floor. This installation, coming with the launching of our project, allows people to visualize the different Wi-Fi zones in concrete terms.
When a message is addressed to you, you get a notfication and can download it as soon as ou enter the target zone. You can also explore all the public messages and suscribe to your favorites groups or communities feeds.
