Gautier's room · bedroom concepts for teens

mis

The workshop was about designing new bedroom's concepts for teenagers. We (a team of 10 students from 4 different design schools) worked in collaboration with Gautier, towards the main manufacturing plant, in Vendée (fr).

mis

First of all, we introduced the idea that teenagers may not be interested in buying a traditional whole bedroom with their parents and so on. We were much more interested in designing cheap and easy-to-buy solutions allowing them to freely transform their actual bedroom, as often as they want. These solutions could be sold in corner shop, as accessories, not as furniture.

mis

For instance a wardrobe garment allowing to transform the existing wardrobe in order to gives it a brand new look and lots of new uses.

mis

Things can be hooked up on the large mesh net and the wardrobe doesn't need to be close allowing to keep an eye on everything inside.

mis

Or this "second-chance" writing desk allowing to work on an extra space, without putting anything in order ;)

The workshop ended with two different concepts, you can have a sneak peak at the way we worked in this amazingly cool and productive workshop.
